Civil
Engg. is the profession of designing and executing structural works
that serve the general public. The term was first used in the 18th
century to distinguish the newly recognized profession from military
engineering. From earliest times, however, engineers have engaged
in peaceful activities, and many of the civil engineering works
of ancient and medieval times—such as the Roman public baths,
roads, bridges, and aqueducts; the Flemish canals; the Dutch sea
defenses; the French Gothic cathedrals; and many other monuments—reveal
a history of inventive genius and persistent experimentation.

The curriculum comprises of the study of computers, including their
design (architecture) and their uses for computations, data processing,
and systems control. The field of computer science includes engineering
activities such as the design of computers and of the hardware and
software that make up computer systems. It also encompasses theoretical,
mathematical activities, such as the design and analysis of algorithms,
performance studies of systems and their components by means of techniques
like queuing theory, and the estimation of the reliability and availability
of systems by probabilistic techniques.

It
is the branch of engineering concerned with the practical applications
of electricity in all its forms, including those of the field of electronics.
In engineering practice, the distinction between electrical engineering
and electronics is based on the comparative strength of the electric
currents used. In this sense, electrical engineering is the branch
dealing with “heavy current

Electronics
refers to the discipline pertaining to the behaviour of an electron
under different conditions of externally applied fields. It is the
field of Science and Engg. that deals with electron devices and their
utilization. The tremendous advancement in the field of Electronics
has already brought this discipline into the forefront of Science
and Technology.
Electronics engineering is that branch of electrical engineering concerned
with the uses of the electromagnetic spectrum and with the application
of such electronic devices as integrated circuits, transistors, and
vacuum tubes

It
is the branch of engineering concerned with the design, manufacture,
installation, and operation of engines and machines and with manufacturing
processes. It is particularly concerned with forces and motion.

All
disciplines of Engg. have common subjects like English, Mathematics,
Physics and Chemistry in the first year. The footage of all branches
is stemmed on the fundamentals of Physics and Chemistry which is interpreted
and analysed through the theory of Mathematics. The communicative
English is included in the curriculum to make the student capable
of assimilating knowledge and to communicate technical information
to the external world. The teaching faculty for these general subjects
are deputed from Govt. Colleges under the Directorate of Collegiate
Education.
