The
Priyadarsini Auditorium with a plinth area of 1000 m2 is constructed
as a Silver Jubilee Memorial.It was constructed with the Financial
Assistance of Rural Development Programme and Old Students Associaltion.
The total cost of construction was Rs.12 lakhs. The plan of the auditorium
was done by Sri. P.K. Sasidharan who was the Civil Engineering Head
at that time.The audiorium was inaugrated in 1986. It is now supervised
by a Committee under the Chairmanship of Local MLA.
The
auditorium is available for public functions at a nominal rent. The
seating capacity is 666.

Men's
Hostel was constucted in the year 1990. This hostel is construced
in order to arrange accomodation for students who comes from far
away places.

Working out the total expenses incurred at the Mess, bills are prepared
and divided among the inmates at the end of each month. In every month
students have to pay a rent of Rs.110/- (Including establishment charge
of Rs.5/-).

There
is a computerised library in our Polytechnic with 14000 books. Books
are granted by the AICTE scheme(All India Council of Technical Education)
and SC/ST Book Bank scheme. Books on general subjects such as encyclopaedia,
dictionery as well as books on Engineering subjects are available
in the library. In addition to this, a collection of video cassettes
pertaining to technical subjects are also available.
The
working time of library is from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Books are issued between
9.30 a.m to 3.30 p.m.There is break from 12 to 12.40.Specific days
are allocated to different branches for issue of books. The number

Staff
members can take a maximum of 10 books. The books should be returned
within 15 days, and can be renewed 2 times. After the 15th day, a
fine of 50 paise should be remitted.10 paise per day will be charged,
as fine, on subsequent days.

GUIDANCE
& COUNSELLING CELL
|

There
is a Guidance & Counseling Cell in the Polytechnic. The aim of
this cell is assist the students in achieving their goals through
counseling initiatives. A teacher is in charge of this cell. It provides
guidance to those students who face various problems in their studies.

There
is a well arranged waiting room for ladies only. Bathroom and wash
facilities are provided in this room. The location of the room is
in between the Computer block and Drawing hall.

order to provide round the clock power supply a stand by generator is
provided which can provide power to all the department. |

The
central office of the association is in Sree Rama Govt. Polytechnic
College, Triprayar.

All
the students who have studied out from the Sree Rama Govt. Polytechnic
College, Triprayar shall be members of the association. There shall
be 4 classes of members.

Life
members |
All
the old students of the college who pay an entrance subscription
of Rs. 500/- and an application fee of Rs:10/- shall be life
members of the association. The need no pay any annual subscription
further. |
| 2. |
Fresh
Diploma Holders |
All
students of the college, immediately after the completion of
their course, are enrolled as fresh diploma members for a period
of 3 years by paying an entrance subscription of Rs:100/- They
can convert the same to life membership before the completion
of period of 3years by paying the balance amount Rs:400/- |
| 3. |
Ordinary
Annual Members |
All
old students who have not taken life membership or fresh diploma
membership shall be considered as ordinary members of the association.
The ordinary membership fee is Rs:50/-per annum. |
| 4. |
Honorary
Members |
Technical
staff except the alumni of the college, shall be honorary members
of the association. |

The
executive committee shall consists of the following 15 members:

Two
members, one shall be nominated from the technical teaching
staff of SRGPTC by the President and the other shall be elected
from the regular alumni members. The nomination should be ratified
later by the executive committee. |

Shall
be elected from among the regular alumni members who are working
in local area. |
| 4. |
Joint
Secretaries |
Three
Numbers he/she shall be elected from regular alumni members.

Treasurer |
Shall
be nominated from the teaching staff of SRGPTC |
| 6. |
Executive
Committee members |
(7 Members) - 5 members shall be elected from among regular
alumni members and 2 members shall be nominated by the president
from among the honorary members and fresh diploma members. |
All
the members except the honorary members of the association will have
the voting power in the General body meeting.
Presently,
the Principal, Sri.C.S.Rajan is the President
and Smt.V.Nalini is the Secretary of PTA.

DUTIES
OF THE OFFICE BEARERS
| 1. |
The
president shall have the following duties:
He/she
shall preside over the meeting of the Association. He/She will
supervised the activities and will advice the secretary to arrange
meetings. He/She shall call for the ex1raordinary general body
meeting on receipt of the written request of not less than 20
alumni members. |
| 2. |
The
duties of the vice-president shall be to officiate the president
in his/her absence and help him/her in discharging his/her duties. |
| 3. |
The
secretary shall convene all ordinary meetings of the association:
For general body meeting the consent of executive committee
should be obtained. He/she shall present a report of the working
of the association during the year in the annual general body
meeting. He/she shall perform the duties of treasurer in the
absence of a treasurer. |
| 4. |
The
joint secretaries shall help the secretary in convening the
meetings and in matters of correspondence. In the absence of
the Secretary, one of the joint secretaries shall take up the
work of the secretary with the permission of the president.
|
| 5. |
The
secretary will be responsible for the upkeep of all records
of the association and of the proceedings of general body and
executive committee meetings. |
| 6. |
The
treasurer shall maintain all accounts of the association. He/she
shall issue receipt for money received and submit the accounts
to the committee at its meeting. |
| 7. |
The
executive committee shall meet at least once in every three months.
|
| 8. |
The
Quorum of the meetings of the executive committee shall be 1.f2
of the strength of the committee |

|
|
GENERAL
BODY MEETING
| 1. |
The
office bearers shall be elected once in a year at the Annual
General Body Meeting. Any interim vacancy may be filled up by
the secretary with the approval of executive committee. In the
case of the post of secretary, it will be filled by president
with the approval of executive committee. |
| 2. |
In
addition to the annual general body meeting, extra ordinary
general body meeting may be called on the written request of
not less than 20 alumni members with the approval of the executive
committee. |
| 3. |
The
Quorum of a general body meeting should be more than 20. |
| |
|
|
FUNDS
| 1. |
All
the funds received by the association shall be deposited in
a nationalized or scheduled bank The joint account will be
made by President, Secretary and treasurer. The withdrawal
can be made by any two signatures. All withdrawal from the
account would be as per the decision of the executive committee.
|
| 2. |
A
minimum of 50 per cent of the amount collected as total membership
fee should be used for meeting the day to day expenses of
the office. |
| 3. |
The
treasurer shall be given an imprest account of Rs. 1000/-.
The expenditure made by him should be ratified later by the
executive committee. |
| 4. |
The
accounts of the association shall be audited annually by an
auditor who is not a member of the executive committee, elected
by the general body. |
| |
|
|
CHAPTERS
| 1. |
The
Alumni residing at any particular place may organize a chapter
of the association and should intimate the same to the secretary
of the Association (Head Quarters) at Sree Rama Govt. Polytechnic
College, Triprayar. |
| 2. |
Each
chapter shall have a minimum of 10 alumni members with 3 elected
office bearers. The three office-bearers of the chapter shall
be considered as regular alumni members of the Association at
head quarters. |

|
JOURNAL
The
association shall publish an Alumni Journal yearly subject to the
availability of funds.
|
AMENDMENTS
Amendments
to the constitution suggested by the general body shall be made
by two-third majority of the total strength of the members present
in the General Body Meeting.

|
PARENT
TEACHER ASSOCIATION
|
|
A
parent-teacher association is working in the Polytechnic. Creative
suggestions from the parents are welcomed for the smooth functioning
of the institution. The parents may have periodic check up of curricular
and co-curricular activities of their wards by contacting the Principal
and the teachers.
The
P.T.A strives to ensure the participation of the parents in the
upkeep of good academic environment and campus discipline
Every
year, the PTA monitors the academic progress of the students and
recognizes the top scorers of every class. The Executive committee
of the PTA is convenened in every month and discuss issues which
needs immediate attention. The PTA disburses awards to the achievers
in various activities and top scorers during the Annual General
Body Meeting convened once in an year.

ISTE (INDIAN
SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION)
|
| |
ISTE
is a national professional society which has chapters in almost all
Polytechnics and Engineering colleges. The major objective of ISTE
is to formulate the general goals and responsibilities of technical
education and to develop effective teachers and to strengthen the
teaching-learning process.

ISTE
- Student Chapter
The
student chapter of ISTE is organizing awareness programmes in the
emerging fields of technical education to the members of the chapter.
Lecture sessions engaged by personnels from technical fields are also
part the activities of the student chapter.
